foundinthemargins was founded on the belief that reading is exciting and integral in invigorating the mind. We read for many reasons: to escape, to learn, to gain inspiration, to laugh.

What do the people whom we admire read? The people who inspire us with their music, their words, their spirit? Surely, they turn to reading for laughter and inspiration as often as we do, perhaps more so.

This site is aimed to give you a glimpse into the reading habits of those you admire most. Activists, musicians, and authors themselves all draw their inspiration from different sources. We were very curious as to the types of books that have left an indelible mark on some of the brightest and most creative minds.
